Out of a sense of completeism and curiosity at how they were intended to be heard, I ripped the Analog Boxes remixes to a lossless format in order to pitch them up to the correct tempo. When I looked at the waveforms, I realized why I didn't care much for the tracks; they're brickwalled like crazy. It's exhausting to the ear. I don't think it was a mastering issue; they're the only tracks like this on the CD. Normally, an Anything Box remix of a classic Echoing Green track sounds like an awesome idea, but Claude wouldn't let the song breathe. Too bad. Hearing them at the correct tempo didn't help.
