Discussion about Kwick - Foreplay
Gaiauaco
This album is too funky and catchy. Allen A Jones really did himself well producing Foreplay using many musical elements from Morris Day & The Time (Jones was known for replicating recently popular R&B/Funk songs and tailoring it for The Bar-Kays, Kwick, Ebonee Webb, and a few others). For example, "Stuck Up" sounds much like "The Walk" and "I'll Get You Right" samples much from "Wild N Loose" (all from The Time). "Too Lonely To Be Alone" has the melody of "Gigolos Get Lonely Too" but with suggestively sexual lyrics from Prince. Amazing album (got the entire lp imported on my iPhone).
